On Tuesday I called up your company in regards to desperately looking for a rental property due to renovations of the current property we own. I spoke to a young lady by the name of Angela. She was helpful and discussed a few properties with her. I just thought I would leave some good feedback because good customer service is not as merely recognised as bad customer service. I was just very happy with the customer service because I had spoken to other real estate companies and felt as though they tried to rush me off the phone and very rude. They had a history, from the commencement of the lease, of inconsistently paying rent citing a range of personal and business difficulties which we initially paid some consideration and showed leniency for; withdrawing a VCAT application for possession of the property. Quickly it became evident that these tenants were taking advantage of this situation and with the support and guidance of Ashlee we were again applied to VCAT and the tenants were rightfully evicted and an application to recover rent owed and restoration of costs is pending for a hearing.Ashlee whilst managing all of the VCAT arrangements also secured new tenants for our property with it re-rented within 1 week of the house being vacated by the previous tenants. At all times we have found Ashlee friendly, professional and an extremely good communicator and supportive of any and all decisions as the property owners we have made. We know that good work and strong work practice isn't always acknowledged and we do not wish for this to be the case in this instance for Ashlee. I have no hesitation in recommending Tom Reddaway as an outstanding Real Estate consultant. My own experience with Tom began when I recently needed to sell a 1-Bedroom apartment in the heart of Swanston Street, Melbourne. My townhouse in Essendon has recently been sold by Ms. Teresa Soliman of Pennisi Real Estate Agents. Despite a particularly challenging real estate market and less than ideal economic conditions, Teresa was able to achieve a good outcome with the sale of my property. Although in the past I have not been an advocate of the Jenman sale process, in this instance, Teresa was able to achieve a sound 4.2% higher sale price using the Jenman approach than I was quoted as a “realistic and achievable price” by another local Real Estate Agent who recommended going to auction. To whom it may concern, late last year we decided to sell a unit in Pascoe Vale. We had owned this unit for some 20 years buying it for accommodation while our daughter attended University in Melbourne. About 10 years ago our daughter moved to Ballarat and the unit was only used by us and family members on frequent trips to Melbourne. Over the twenty years due to normal wear and tear the unit needed painting, new carpet etc. When the decision was made to sell it we contacted Pennisi Real Estate to handle the sale and was introduced to Teresa Soliman. Teresa visited the unit the next day and on the inspection made several useful recommendations on the refurbishment and very comprehensively went through the process of selling and what costs would be incurred, how it would be advertised and then gave us a figure of what she thought the unit would be worth. After a couple of months, we contacted Teresa and put the unit on the market. She contacted us every Sunday night to let us know how many inspections she had over the week and if any people had shown real interest and what comments were made regarding the unit. After 6 weeks Teresa rang to say she had 2 offers on the unit and one were actually above the advertised price and that offer was naturally accepted. Darren Barr was recommended to us by our next door neighbor who was also selling his property with Darren. Our neighbor said: "try this guy as he sort of uses an alternative method of selling and it may be more of a true indication without all the lies that most other real estate agents feed you". Congratulations! Mr. Darren Barr, I would like to express my sincere thoughts regarding the sale of my property. I was a little apprehensive to place my home into this current market in fear of not being able to reach a suitable price that would meet my expectation. Also, I had heard many stories of other agents wanting upfront fees to advertise their homes and overvalued selling prices, and of course I did not want to find myself in this position. During those 20 years, she has managed the house and property extremely well even though addresses changed, tenants changed and communication sometimes difficult when we moved to southeast Asia. You sold our house for far more than we would have hoped for, in far less time than we could have expected, and you kept or exceeded every promise you made to us. You were only in our lives for a week but you've made a huge difference to our quality of life. While you quoted a higher price to sell our house you were very reasonable with that quote, the fact that you charged us a fixed price on a no-sale no-charge basis meant there were no surprises for us, and the huge sale price that you did achieve meant we ended up far in front of where we'd have been if we'd gone with another agent. Most real-estate agents seem to start with a 4-week long "marketing campaign" (putting an ad in the paper) - you already had buyers to show through my house so you didn't waste my time bringing hundreds of tyre-kickers through. I think we had a signed contract within 9 days of having Jason Hill knock on our front door. Most real-estate agents try to seek an offer which is only slightly bigger than the second-best offer. You sought, and obtained, the highest offer from the biggest buyer. I could go on but I think I will just finish by saying: You can trust this man. We did. And it worked out great!

All the booklets giving advice on how to choose a real estate agent to emphasise the need for trust rather than choosing the agent who gives you the highest price estimate. After a couple of months and several unsuccessful offers, I was so disillusioned that I decided to start again later in the year. Thank you for the exceptional service we received in the recent sale of our home. At no time were we rushed or pressured into making a decision or commitment and Darren was upfront and clear about what we would be committing to if we chose Pennisi and the methods that would be used to sell our home. By comparison, all others came up well short of the standard set by Darren and Pennisi Real Estate. Throughout the entire process, we were asked what we wanted and what our thoughts were. As far as we were concerned, Darren was the only one who actually listened and paid attention to this. We advised what our ‘dream price’ was and that, although we knew this was at the upper end of the market, it was what we hoped to get. Other agents seemed to only listen to us because they had to – then tried to convince us we would never get that price and talk us down to what it appeared they had already decided the house would be sold for. Any other real estate agent would have just stopped trying then and there, thinking that they had done everything they needed to (and probably better than they expected), but Darren kept making the effort for us. By the following afternoon, only one week after putting the house up for sale, Daren contacted us with an offer $10,000.00 higher than our dream price! Obviously, we were ecstatic and accepted this offer. We cannot recommend highly enough Darren and the other staff at Pennisi and will be referring all of our friends and family to them. Making the decision to sell our house with Pennisi was the best decision we could have ever made – a decision that I am confident in saying resulted in us leaving with an extra $40,000.00 in our pocket compared to what any other agent would have achieved for us.

On coming into our home, Darren talked about how Pennisi’s approach to selling differed from other Real Estate agents. We were immediately confident that this method of viewing by appointment only was more for us. Possibly having strangers wandering through our home, as an agent stood at the door, bothered us. However, Pennisi’s method of having only one group shown through at a specific time and being walked through the property by an agent made us much more confident that not only would we not get people ‘just coming for a look’, we would have people who were really interested in purchasing a property such as ours.
